Installing MSAgent Characters

Microsoft Agent Characters are distributed in the following file formats:

.EXE Files

Some characters may be packaged as self-extracting executable files.  Double-click the .EXE file after you have downloaded it to automatically install the character to your character folder.  You delete the .EXE file after the character is installed.

Most .EXE files are ZIP compatible so you can optionally open them with a program like 7-Zip after downloaded to extract characters manually.

.ACS Files

Microsoft Agent Character Files (.ACS) should be saved to your
character folder at:
C:\WINDOWS\MSAGENT\CHARS or C:\WINNT\MSAGENT\CHARS

.ZIP Files

You may sometimes find other characters packaged in .ZIP files.

Download the .ZIP file and then open it with an UnZip program like WinZip to extract the character .ACS file to your character folder. You may delete the .ZIP file after the character is installed.

Windows XP/Vista can open .ZIP files directly without a third-party UnZip program. Open the .ZIP and copy the file to your character folder.

.7Z Files

You may sometimes find other characters packaged in .7Z files.

Download the .ZIP file and then open it with an UnZip program like 7-Zip to extract the character .ACS file to your character folder. You may delete the .ZIP file after the character is installed.
